Description

Remember that this is a sample piece for practice and reference for future projects.

Fabrics:

  • 7”  WOF Strip of fabric.  Please have this ready prior to class by cutting your 7” WOF Strip of fabric.  Make sure that it is cut straight and measures 7”. Fold your fabric in half width-wise wrong sides together so you end with a piece 3.5" x 42".  Make sure your raw edges are even and straight. Press the fold so the crease is very crisp.  Starch or sizing is helpful.

Specific supplies for this class:

  1. Small ruler measuring at least 3-1/2” square.  Instructor’s favorite size is 4” x 10”.  Larger rulers tend to be awkward.
  2. Scissors that are very sharp and cut all the way to the point as needed for applique. Instructor recommends Perfect Scissors Karen Kay Buckley 6 inch Medium Blue.
  3. Applique pins.  Applique pins are shorter than usual piecing pins.  Long pins get in the way and you will prick yourself often.
  4. Fabric Glue stick.
  5. Pencil or marking pen.
  6. Travel iron and ironing surface to use at your seat

NO Sewing machine or rotary cutter are needed for this class.

Class fee: $10.
